breid
Years ago I used my Line6 POD X3 as my primary recording interface. What I loved about it is that I could call up a tone in Gearbox to record with, but choose to record the unaffected signal by selecting that driver. That way, I could hear an approximation of a lead tone while recording with no latency, but afterwards had the option to reamp with another plugin to better match the track. Since then I've moved on to other live sound solutions and am using a Scarlett Focusrite for capturing tracks. Problem is, I occasionally have round trip latency issues when recording a heavily processed track. They are slight, but very annoying at high tempos. I was thinking about buying the $99 POD Studio GX just for recording guitar tracks with no latency. However, the only demos I see on Youtube show people using Pod Farm to capture the processed signal. Can the Pod Studio GX drivers capture an unaffected signal while monitoring with a Gearbox or Pod Farm standalone signal in the same way my X3 did? Thanks,
Triryche
Yes you can capture the dry signal (or both wet and dry) with the GX. Do you still have the X3?
breid
I do technically still own the X3, but I've permanently loaned it to my church youth band, so I can't put it to work. Plus it's the floor unit and I don't want it underfoot mucking up the studio. Much rather have a small box that I can set on top of my other interface. Do you know if the drivers and software play well with Windows 10?

By these do you mean recording a dry track while monitoring plug-ins in real-time? 15 minutes ago, breid said: Do you know if the drivers and software play well with Windows 10? I have a UX2 which uses the same drivers and no issues with Win10.
breid
When recording I sometimes get latency when capturing a dry track from the Scarlett with Bias Amp/Helix Native running on the channel with input echo turned on. Normally not a problem, but if I'm tracking solos over several tracks of processed audio/ VSTis, it gets problematic.
Triryche
Is the latency on the dry track during playback, or are you referring to the latancey you experience between what you play and what you hear?
breid
No, it tracks appropriately. The latency issue is just with my aural feedback while playing.
Triryche
That's what I figured, not sure the GX would be better with that aspect, with the exception of you could monitor wet POD Farm tones directly from the GX and add your plug-ins post processing. breid
That's exactly what I'm wanting to do. Monitor with a zero latency patch from the GX, then replace the plugins after the fact.
