Supermoon reverb pedal in effects loop creates distortion with Helix patches?

Hello all!

 

I have been attempting to use my favorite pedal, Mr. Black Supermoon Chrome reverb in the effects loop of my Helix. However, no matter where I place it in the chain on the Helix, it creates a ton of muddy distortion in the chain. I have used it at anywhere from 100% mix to 40% mix, changed the boost of the effects loop from +0.0db to -10.0db and nothing seems to change. 

 

What can can I do to make it sound better with the Helix patches?

Do you have the effects loop you're using set to instrument level in the Global Settings menu?
