sloppyfingers Posted November 4, 2018 Share Posted November 4, 2018 Hi all It's Been awhile. Just a quick question? I own a Torpedo CAB and I recently discovered some SIGMA acoustic guitar IRS. I was really considering purchasing a separate acoustic guitar amp for my acoustic, but then I got to looking at the Line6 Power CAB. I also have a few pre amp pedals which I use in conjunction with my torpedo CAB and they sound real good through my studio monitors. At low volumes, my acoustic also sounds decent using my Torpedo CAB and studio monitors, but it's hard to tell being the volume is low.. My train of thought was that by having a Powercab, I could use it for both electric and acoustic guitar situations when I play out. I really like the potential versatility. The Variax can be compared to the IR (but it's inside the electric guitar instead of the modeler). The PC can turn into FRFR, so there's no matter. For the moment, i'm more on the electrics stuffs to sound as i want. I've invited a friend of mine last time to have a try on it (he has a variax too and a LT). When he tried the acoustic it was pretty convincing..... I don't know what you telling about "play out" but if it's for gigging, i see in your rig that the torpedo cab doesn't have a midi output, so you won't be able to command the PC+ to change the cab sim instantly. I have programmed all my presets in the Helix to do so, it's really magic to change and to see the Cab change automatically...... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And some other pedals into the PC. sounds frikn amazing. Then I run my banjo thru an Alix DI. into channel 2 of the PC. AND IT SOUNDS GREAT! I play in an Celtic/Irish rock band full drums bass etc.. plenty loud enough. The low volume stuff I see on this forum must be the helix coupled to the PC? Then if I’m on bigger stages I use the xlr out of Pc to get the mic’d in room feel thru foh and it kills it. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
smacar01 Posted April 20, 2022 Share Posted April 20, 2022 Do I need a preamp if I'm connecting my Guild acoustic guitar with a Seymour Duncan soundhole pickup through a Amplifi TT to my Powercab?
