Fkv express mkii looping?

I've tried everything to find this information, some places say that I can't use the pedal as a looper and need the short board, some say I can.

 

All I want to do is be able to press a switch on the express mkii to start a recording, then press again to loop over the recording I just made. An overdub function basically.. It's a pain to try to press the button with my hand every time. Is there any way this is possible??

In case anyone stumbles onto this topic after searching for days and getting nothing from support like I did;

 

Click settings, scroll down to fbv mode. Change that to jam control mode. It will now tell you what the banks a,b,c, and d control. You can hit "a" to start the countdown to record

Press and hold A and B at the same time or C and D to activate looper. Then (A) to start recording (B) to Stop (C) to Undo (D) to play at 1/2 speed. you can't record at 1/2 speed only play.

Thanks for this. I have had my Spider Jam for ages and not really made the best use of it but now I'm using it more. I am getting an FBV express Mk 2 and information on basic operation is scarce to say the least.
