Amp switching Fender Supersonic 22

Recommended Posts

I love this little amp and the sounds I get from it.  I'd like to use Helix LT for the effects and to switch amp channels so I can ditch the factory footswitch for the amp.

Typically this should be easy, but for some unknown reason Fender used a 7-pin DIN Cable to connect footswitch to amp rather than the standard 1/4" TS or TRS.  Is there any way to use Helix LT to control amp channels for this amp?

Modern Fender amp switching is logic controlled.  The footswitches actually use active circuits internally to supply different voltages which are then interpreted by the amp.  So ..short answer is NO. However if it's vital ... you could modify the existing switch ..but you'd still require it to be in circuit.

That said ...what particular function to you want to switch?   channels? ...

My experience of the super sonic with Helix is: ...I love the SS gain channel but found it very easy to replicate and indeed improve on the clean channel with one of the Helix preamps/amps . So i ended up using 4CM and leaving the SS on the gain channel....therefore no amp switching required.

This could be a viable work-around.  Mind sharing how you're getting those tones with the helix?  I'm not quite able to get there.  Thanks.

I was trying to do the same with a HX Stomp and a Voodoo Lab Control Switcher to convert the MIDI Signal to analog signals for my Fender Supersonic.

It turned out that the HX Stomp doesn't send MIDI CC Signals.

With which Line 6 Effects board would this be possible ?
