stephany7andy Posted February 12, 2019 Share Posted February 12, 2019 When i connected Relay G10S to snake box with XLR , it was making a buzz/hum. so i had to use 1/4 cable to direct box and XLR to snake box. what did i do wrong? is there set up i need to do? phil_m Posted February 13, 2019 Share Posted February 13, 2019 Sounds like a ground loop... If you connect the XLR out directly to a mixer through a snake, the grounds are electrically connected, so it makes it pretty easy to get a ground loop. There are some instances where using the 1/4" out into a DI is probably simply the better way to go. This would be especially true when the G10S aren't powered from the same circuit/power strip.
