Yes. If you have difficulty registering it in your account you just need to contact Line 6. They will help you get it registered and then you'll be fine.
If you have contact with the previous owner you can ask them to remove the registration from their account. Then you should not need Line 6 to help.

Note that If the previous owner already purchased a copy of Helix Native at the discount rate, you will not have access to that offer. He can "gift" you his copy through his account, but Line 6 is not obligated to sell you a 2nd copy tied to that units purchase.

Updates aren’t tied to your registration status. You do need to have your unit registered to activate any purchases from the Marketplace, though.
If I buy a previously owned Helix, that was already registered, will I still be able to get updates from L6?
