DannyMcO
Anybody know the volume and tone pot values on the Variax Standard Limited Edition guitars? Was looking to upgrade the pickups.
psarkissian
Any third party pick should have a DC/Bulk Resistance of between 6k-Ohms and 8k-Ohms, so that it will match to the circuitry or the tone color (EQ) will sound too bright (less then 6k) or too dark (greater than 8k). Is that 6-8 per individual pickup or total/aggregate?
psarkissian
Each pick-up. It will be a specification on the pick-up's information sheet that comes with the pick-up or will be the specification for that pick-up on their website.
DannyMcO
Thanks - wound up picking up some Zexcoils, and they had recently been in touch with Line 6, who he said told him the spec was for 6.4kOhms
psarkissian
Measured values can vary slightly. And that's in the 6k to 8k range. Besides, the phone support guy got that spec from me, as I am the guy who services these guitars.
