Chipman01
My 16 year old son plays all three and as I expected has become very excited about his Helix. Currently he runs it through his Blues Cube Artist but I want to take it to the next level. I want to get a speaker that will eliminate the need for carrying heavy Bass Amps around but yet be able to produce great guitar tone. Keep in mind Upright Bass in Jazz Band is his main gig. Any recommendations??? Thanks from a dad that really doesn’t have a clue.
karlkaminski
I use a similar setup. *if your son is using the HXS as part of his signal chain with all three instruments: basically look for Flat, FRFR, or PA systems Highly recommend Acoustic Image, works great for all three. also Quilter (both bass amps/cabs and QSC PA systems). Dont be fooled by their small format—theyre both on the forefront of design and power.
beascott
You might be able to nab a Line 6 Stagesource L2t on the used market at a reasonable price. Make sure it does not have the "fan rattle" issue or that it has been resolved. This speaker moves a lot of air for any bass or guitar. It is very versatile, easy to transport, and durable. It mates with the Helix beautifully using the L6 Link or straight into the mixer for an acoustic guitar.
