toastfacegrilla
Hi all I recently updated my HX stomp with latest firmware. it has erased all the file names for the presets. is there an easy way to restore these names, as i've only had it for a few days and the file names were easy to workout which were DIR etc.
silverhead
Did you create a backup of your HX Stomp before updating?
pbenda
I just bought mine and did an update out of the box . . . notice on first login no presets or IRs . . . . Didn't create a backup because I didn't think on first set up I needed one . . .did a reset. All seems good now--backing up and then going to reload after update. intrglctcrevfnk
Same thing happened to me- I just bought a 2.71 used and updated. All the names were gone. But one more hard reset (where you hold down the 2 buttons while turning it on) and they came back up. I believe that step was given in the how-to post that was a mile long! 1

felipefenton
Updated and also lost all the names. Tried hard reset multiple times and still no names. The presets are there, just the names are gone. Like some of the users above, I didn't think I'd need to back up since I didn't have any custom presets. davchilders
which two buttons do you hold down? any update on this issue ?

Doing a factory reset (holding down FS2 & FS3 while powering up) should get names back if they're missing. If you created a backup, restore from backup after doing the reset.

mason87104
Thanks for this solution all! I took my new HX Stomp out of the box and it displayed just the generic numbered preset names, but the factory reset (power on holding down FS2 & FS3) restored the descriptive names. The problem could have been the result of a firmware upgrade done by the seller (Sweetwater).
Chutist
Thanks for the helpful replies!! (Minus one pompas rectum). As with some of the others here, I took my NIB Stomp out and did the usual with any new gear with firmware - I updated it. AND it wiped all the names.... I'll reset it, make a backup, reinstall the firmware update and THEN install the backup... To Line 6, a firmware update should "Do no harm". You can do better here....
