I just bought mine and did an update out of the box . . . notice on first login no presets or IRs . . . .

Didn't create a backup because I didn't think on first set up I needed one . . .did a reset. All seems good now--backing up and then going to reload after update.

Same thing happened to me- I just bought a 2.71 used and updated. All the names were gone. But one more hard reset (where you hold down the 2 buttons while turning it on) and they came back up. I believe that step was given in the how-to post that was a mile long!

Sorry to burden you with so much reading, but unfortunately that's the best way for one to gain KNOWLEDGE in this world.

any update on this?

Doing a factory reset (holding down FS2 & FS3 while powering up) should get names back if they're missing. If you created a backup, restore from backup after doing the reset.

Thanks for this solution all!  I took my new HX Stomp out of the box and it displayed just the generic numbered preset names, but the factory reset (power on holding down FS2 & FS3) restored the descriptive names.  The problem could have been the result of a firmware upgrade done by the seller (Sweetwater).

Thanks for the helpful replies!!  (Minus one pompas rectum).

As with some of the others here, I took my NIB Stomp out and did the usual with any new gear with firmware - I updated it.  AND it wiped all the names....

I'll reset it, make a backup, reinstall the firmware update and THEN install the backup...

To Line 6, a firmware update should "Do no harm".  You can do better here....
