Gab_21
Hi, How long should the 2.82 update take? My Line 6 updater is saying "installing firmware update" and "update in progress" for the last 15 mins but there is nothing happening - no sign that the update is progressing (green bar etc.). If I stop the update it may cause other problems. What should I do?? Thanks, G
silverhead
What firmware version are you updating from?
Gab_21
Version 2.81 I followed the instructions but it didn't work first time. I bit the bullet and stopped the update. I ran it a second time and it worked ok. It may have been a loss of connection between my laptop and the rack unit. I think the first time, while the Line 6 updater was saying "update in progress" the display on the rack unit was still in normal amp mode, so I don't think the update began on the unit the first time - so the software was probably not corrupted/half installed. Anyway it worked the 2nd time :-) The loss of connection may have been something to do with trying to connect the rack unit with the HX edit software and the Updater software at the same time?? silverhead
The Updater program will not work with HX Edit running, but it usually doesn't even start up much less get to the point of ' update in progress'.
rsvette12
What I do is update Helix Edit first - dont start it up - run line6 updater - let it do its thing - lastly it updates your presets - thats it then launch new Helix Edit - easy stuff - nothing else to know really I never have Helix Edit open during any update process By the way finally my onboard exp pedal is now 1 not my mission pedal so it now defaults to volume as exp 1 - thanks line6
Tomoflong
Updating from 2.60 to 2.82. Did all the necessary software updates etc. Backed up my unit whilst in 2.60 hx edit and again when i updated hx edit to 2.82. The firmware has been updating for a long time and has been at the half way point for about 30-40 mins. The unit currently says "Boot Failure. Entered Update Mode!" which the instructions in the Line 6 updater says it would do and not to worry. I'm worried now it's stuck. Should it take so long? Most sources online say it takes 5-10 mins. Followed all the instructions to the letter. Should I restart the process or wait? It's been a long time!

Reinstall HX Edit (2.82) - When you get to the options section of the install, leave them all checked. Start the Helix with FS6 and FS12 pressed (update mode) Start the LINE 6 Updater. (...don't use a USB-HUB, try annother USB-port if it still does not work use annother computer for the update)
