delacloche
When I first got my Helix a couple of years ago I remember I was able to play along with backing tracks I had on my laptop .When I tried this again recently I can only hear my guitar thru the Helix and my computer plays the backing tracks through its own headphone output. My Helix is connected to the laptop via USB. What do I have to do to get the laptop to playback on Helix?
karlkaminski
(for HXStomp) manual pg44 has the info. you've got to set the ins/out of the DAW to match. I like to monitor my signal from the DAW on output 3-4 (instead of direct from the helix)
rd2rk
In Global Settings>Ins/Outs>USB 1/2 Destination set to MULTI.
SaschaFranck
You need to set the Helix as the device for system audio. Alternatively, the player you're using will have it's own setup menu in which you might be able to select an output independently from your system audio settings. Quite obviously, you want to chose the Helix there. Don't change anything on the Helix just yet - it'll usually play back things fine at its default settings. The fact that your backings are playing through your laptops speakers/headphone-outs indicates that the Helix isn't assigned properly there.
