Acoustic amp models

An acoustic amp is really designed to be like a PA in a combo amp style box. They typically have a tweeter, and they're kind of FRFR-ish. Modeling something like that is kind of redundant, as you'd likely be plugging the Helix into an FRFR system anyway. The Helix works very well as an acoustic guitar processor. No amp model is necessary. You might want to look at using an acoustic IR to give your acoustic a more mic'ed up sound, but if you like the sound of your acoustic's pickup system, that's not even necessary. Personally, I find a less is more works best with acoustic tones. I may apply a little EQ and some reverb. Some people like to add some compression and chorus, but it's all very easy to do with the Helix.

No... but depending on exactly what you're trying to do, it may or may not matter. If you're using an actual acoustic, or Variax acoustic models, and some sort of FRFR speaker (which is critical), then you can get very good results using the mic pre-amp model in Helix and a little compression, plus any FX you might want. You don't need an amp model in the chain at all.
