Connection interrupted

Since I have upgraded to 2.8x I have had this issue often. HXEdit loses connection to the device. I have also encountered the unit freezing up but not nearly as often as the connection interruption.  Sometimes I need to reboot to fix and sometimes just turning Helix off then on. I am on Windows 10.

My HX Edit won't stay connected for more than 5 minutes. Constantly disconnecting and showing the message "connection interrupted". Reconnect almost always works. I'm interested in your post because you (prudenjim) are on Windows, and I've having the issue on a Mac (Big Sur). I only noticed it happening this frequently after upgrading to big Sur but now I wonder if it's not related.

This thread is 10 months old and the issue was discussing the older v2.8x firmware and Windows 10.

It has been mentioned that Line 6 sent out an email telling customers to avoid updating to Big Sur until further notice, but as you are already in that situation I would suggest that you might need to zap the PRAM or NVRAM on your Mac.

Try this.

No guaranteed, but worth a shot as some stuff can get screwed up after an update.

Seems that Big Sur had lots of USB disconnect issues early on.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

USB connection keeps dropping on HX Edit.

Hi,

In the bottom right hand corner of your this page is a black dot containing a white circle and question mark. Click on it, then from under Common Product FAQ, click on the linked item marked "USB Connection Issues" and follow the instructions given.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
