Drop/Freqout users....

so pedals will be incoming today.....and questioning/wondering the best placement for them.

I initially thought in the loop(s)….but also think the Drop would probably benefit from a clean signal in vs fx loop send from somewhere in my preset.  Also, the Freqout would need to be after it in order to provide the right pitch feedback....

Do I run them series between wireless and Helix input?  or in the fx loop together?  Separate FX loops?  Also have a talkbox coming...MXR M222

THe idea of running in the loops makes the most sense...cause then I can run the pedals on all the time, and choose which song presets include the drop/freqout effects.  The drop would of course stay on the whole time in the preset, but the freqout would be controlled via snapshot for leads and such (same with talkbox).

It is the loop that is noisy, not the pedal.  I have experimented several times.  In my opinion the best way to set it up is wireless -> Drop -> Freqout -> Helix input.

Yes it's nice to have them in a loop but I had to add a noise gate after the loop for medium to high gain patches.

Agreed that the Drop would be best placed before the helix input and really right after the guitar. The cleaner the input to the drop, the better it is going to track notes.

You will find that, if you drop more than a half-step, the drop will tend to darken the tone. I use a tilt eq as first thing in the chain to pre-compensate for that, and it works resonably well for me.
