Helix Control display contrast

Hello Helix Rack users,

I have now acquired a helix even after years of tube amp hauling ... I like it. I experimented with an HX stomp along the way ...

I have only one thing that I find strange:

Is the display on the Helix Control at the top, which shows the preset name or possibly the tuner, also darker than the entire displays directly above the foot switches?

The displays above the foot switches can be viewed from every angle. The display at the top is almost black, for example, if you look down exactly from above. If you look diagonally from the front, you can see it. Overall, however, it is darker and does not have as extremely obvious backlighting as the other displays ...

Is there something broken or is it correct with the display?

Best regards

Christoph

I have the same problem.  I'd be interested to see what Line6 has to say about it.  It seems like a simple contrast adjustment.  The unit may need to be opened up, and a trim pot adjustment is all that is needed.  However, I wouldn't do that without Line6's opinion first.

Hi,

Display on the top isnt same nature as the scribble strips. A scribble strip has a very strong backlight, also leaking on the boundaries, while the main display looks like a dim lcd.

I do have the same output as your on my Helix Control. Never seen one with main display bright as the strips, I dont think it's possible.

Even in promo shots, the difference is evident..
