molul
If anyone is interested, Helix Native can be purchased for $69 until Sunday if you're a Helix owner, if you enter the coupon SUMMER30. I was looking forward to getting it, and this price seems to be as low as it can get :) So cool that I can exchange presets between my Helix LT and Native. Now I think I can record guitars for my band's next stuff at home, saving time and money from going to any studio ^_^ One question: is there any useful stuff in Helix for bass guitar? Mostly bass amps, I guess. It would be cool being able to record guitars, keyboards and bass at home and only having to go to studio for drums and vocals :)
soundog
$69 is a great price. If you do any DAW recording, I wouldn't pass it by. It's much handier than hooking up the hardware. Re: bass, the Darkglass emulation is quite nice for shaping tone ... and the bass amps and cabinets are also good. One of the cool things about Helix Native is that you can not only use it for the usual guitar and bass track tone shaping, but I often use it as a dedicated effects plugin on a bus for vocals, keyboards, sax, and the like. I then automate the effects and parameters to fit the mix .... its quite flexible.
molul
I hadn't even thought on using it for vocals or keyboards. Will definitely do :)

I would love to get it myself, but since I purchased a "used" Helix, I'm told the original owner had already used the discounted license, and basically said....its too bad, you have to pay $399.99 instead. Don't see that happening.
soundog
Yes, its crazy expensive if you buy it on its own. If you need a good amp sim for lower cost, I highly recommend S-Gear.
