billyhell2
My Pod Go will be here in a day and I have found some cool electric patches but I haven't found one acoustic patch. I'm sure I could mimic my HX Stomp patches but does anyone have a link to some Pod GO specific patches I could buy?
greenesbb
I just did this search today and had some good results. You can get a basic patch here that's perfect for tweaking ($4.99): https://www.worshiptutorials.com/product/acoustic-line-6-pod-go-patch/. Make sure if you're plugging directly in (no DI or preamp) you set up the amp block (recommend the Studio Preamp for acoustic) or you won't hear anything. Also the Pod Go guitar input has only one impedance (1MOhm). The iRs at 3 Sigma are recommended by many, I downloaded a Martin 45 one here ($10): https://www.3sigmaaudio.com/items/category/acoustic-guitars/ I had better results with the free iRs you can get from Jim here (in the comments section of the video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTxjA87R9ZE&feature=emb_title The nice thing about Jim's free iRs is that there are many body types, and it was a random one that worked best with my guitar. If you have good pickups, you probably don't need iRs but it does round things out nicely even with good pickups (I have K&K pure western minis in all my acoustics) and you can mix in just what you need. After a couple hours tweaking, I'm blown away with the sounds. You probably know from the HX stomp how good the new verbs and delays are. I'm coming from Firehawk, which only had the older lower resolution blocks.
billyhell2
Great info! I have all the 3 Sigma IRs and Jim's IRs. He is also working on an acoustic patch for electric guitars (for Go and Stomp). I am sort of blown away at the lack of acoustic info on tis unit but I think with the info you have provided I will get what I need. I have 2 or 3 on my stomp that I use all the time. I'm hoping I can open the HX Editor copy the blocks to the Pod Go editor for my delays and reverbs. If not I can simply recreate them in the new Pod Go software. My weekend will be full of guitar fun! Thanks for replying!
billyhell2
It may become time to create my own acoustic patches and get them in the Line 6 store!
greenesbb
Cool. I found some more last night in some other threads, downloaded but haven't tried them yet. https://line6.com/support/topic/17076-links-for-free-impulse-responses-ir-here/ Seems some were created by one of the posters and others have been ported from the Fishman Auria modeling DI. I'd like to find a good one for a small body all mahogany and a concert rosewood/cedar top. I noticed after some tweaking last night that the quality of the 3Sigma ones is a lot higher - the highs just sound clean and natural. The dTar ones seem to get a little fluttery and need to be used lower in the mix. I agree you'd think there'd be much available!
billyhell2
I already have some great patches based on this acoustic patch - https://line6.com/customtone/browse/pod_go/15/ and off my own HX Stomp patches. I just matched pedals and settings.
billyhell2
I misspoke. I don't have JIm's IRs and I can't find them in the comments. I'll look some more.
greenesbb
Sorry, I misspoke, it's Peter's iRs in the comments section of the YouTube link in my original post, see below: The IRs I used are also free, made by me.* I use "b03_Dtar_blues" in the top path and"b10_Dtar_mah_dread" in the second path down. They are here, and they are also free. https://drive.google.com/drive/folder... Also, I tried one of the ones here (Holy Grail), it was perfect for my cedar top rosewood, super high quality with a bunch of mic and pickup options. https://www.worshiptutorials.com/product/holy-grail-acoustic-ir-pack/ $10 with the 30% off coupon. Also I tried the Sacco ones I linked to earlier and they are are also really good. For my guitars I ended up using one of the Sacco iRs, the Holy Grail and the Martin D45 from 3 Sigma. After some E tweaking they all sound awesome.
