POD HD500X stopped working

iMac 10.15.6

Garage Band

Guitar is plugged into Line6 POD HD500X. HD 500X unit is plugged in to iMac with a USB.

I was using the Line6 and made a recording a little bit ago. I came back from lunch, downloaded and installed POD500X EDIT so I could start to experiment with some tones. After restarting, my computer, in "system preferences" no longer recognizes a Line6 unit plugged in and I can no longer hear my guitar through the speakers. The only thing that changed was the download and install of POD500X EDIT.

TIA for any help

Check if the POD still works fine disconnected from your computer with the speakers (and headphones) connected to its outputs.

Also check if the USB port on the POD is damaged.

If everything is fine, the problem is probably that when you installed the Editor the driver was also installed again, and its installation was not successful.

As you can see from two of the Line6 announcements at the top of this page, with macOS there can be problems with the correct installation of the driver and therefore the recognition of the device, so follow the advices given there.
