Tryptech
Hi all, I bought a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 to use as an interface rather than using the pod direct to my pc. I know there are multiple output options, but after reading many threads I have decided to go with the 1/4 inch outputs. The only thing I seem to not be finding is which cable would be better, (or the correct one) a standard 1/4 inch or TRS? If anyone has any input (No pun intended) on this it would be greatly appreciated.

stasmith2727
Can anyone explain the popping noise I get when using each sample rate 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 KHz? I'm connecting my POD HD Pro X to the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 and using the S/PDIF ins/outs between both.

Your clock source in your DAW and or the focusrite utility should be set to the S/PDIF and not internal when connected to the POD.

Use SPDIF if you're going to route POD to an interface. Using analog is a waste and causes additional noise and sound degradation, as well a waste of inputs. I use SPDIF from my POD to my Fast Track Pro and it sounds great. Turns it from a 2 input to a 4 input device.

I do use asio4all. For the interface you're using, you'll want to go to Roland's website and download the specific drivers for the ua-55 and your operating system. It should include asio drivers that you can select in your daw. I'm pretty sure asio4all is made for soundcards without any official asio capabilities. Probably want to stay away from it if your interface has native drivers.
