vfcspok
Hi everyone, I really need some help with this one. I've just bought a HD500x. I've owned a 500 before and I used to connect it trough a 1/4 jack in a Tech21 Power Engine 60. With that I assumed that I could do the same with the 500x. However I'v tried to connect it in a 2*12 Cabinet from Zilla Cabs (do not own the Tech21 anymore) but couldn´t get it right. Is it possible? Can anyone give me a hand with this? Thanks Vasco
exile_ch
It sounds like you connect the HD500x (preamp) with a Cab, without Poweramp? am i right?
silverhead
The HD500(x) outputs need to be connected to a powered speaker. Is your cab powered?
Charlie_Watt
It's the same as the 500 - no difference in setup for outputs.

exile_ch
Afaik, preamps have a very low volume Output, so you need a poweramp of any kind. The Tech was a poweramp (as it says power engine) http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/powerengine/powerengine60.html. Many People, i read, use a rocktron poweramp. I go through a tube Combo with fx-return. I heard some very good sounds with a mesa rack poweramp as well. I think pretty much everything works, as long as it sounds good to you. Charlie_Watt
If you owned a 500 you connect the 500X exactly the same. There is no difference here. There are switches to change the output gain from guitar levels to line levels. Make sure you have the switch in the correct position for the kind of input you are going into.
