The sound at both 1:40 and 5:10 is what I am looking for, slightest break up, warm tone. Does any one have a suggestion? I have experimented but have not found the touch, this is however not surprising as there are so many possibilities on the Helix. Suggestions thankfully received! The times you point out are more "core tone" and "pickup position" than they are pedal. What would I do to get the tone in the time positions you suggest? Setup a clean amp tone.... either a Deluxe or Princeton model with the gain fairly low (no dirt) and the channel volume high. These are VOX pedals, but that doesn't sound like a VOX core tone to me. After the amp I would add a touch of reverb.... nothing special, just a small amount. Prior to the amp I would place a Teemah (timmy) overdrive. Dial the gain back so it only breaks up if you hit the strings hard.... Set the guitar for the neck position and start noodling! Now EQ the Teemah and Amp to taste. I now realize that I have been overly using the gain on most evrything, amps as well as dist pedals, thus creating a much harsher tone than that I have been searching for.
