Hi,

I'm trying to copy a preset that's on my v2 Pod but i can't get a tone near it on my Helix LT.

The preset is Brit Blues with a line 6 4 x 12 cab (There isn't a Line 6 4 x 12 cab on Helix.

Also on the POd v2 the brt button is pressed as is the drive button

Also the delay is on which is 2ms 13% feedback and 65% level

Any help would be appreciated

Hard to say for sure... but this is where I would start.

  • On the Helix try the "Brit J45 Bright Model" to simulate the POD 2 "Brit Blues" amp with the bright switch engaged.
  • For extra drive, put a simple "gain" block in front of the amp and turn it up a few notches.
  • For the cabinet you will have to experiment. Don't forget that each mic choice and it's position also acts like an EQ for the cabinet.
  • For the delay try a "simple delay"... start with 2ms 13% feedback and a 30% - 35% mix. The MIX on the Helix peaks 50/50 at 50%, not 100 like the older POD's did (IIRC)

Hi,

According to the POD V2 Preset lists, it is based on a 1964/65 Marshall JTM45 with a Room Reverb. There is no mention of a delay in the basic setting. Although, it does say that delays only have (Tap)“delay time”, and (Tweak) “delay level” not feedback. Also it states that very quick delays will have no repeats for better “slap back”. I can’t find any reference to what the 4x12 cab is based on, so you could simply experiment. Follow the advice given by “codamedia” in the post above regarding mic choice and delays. You might get close, but you have to remember that the POD 2 is old school modelling, so hopefully HX DSP is a lot better.

Hope this helps/makes sense.
