kerryhall1
I'm currently using the Helix before the preamp and in the fx loops of two amps. It's nice to be able to use the headphone output as in-ear monitors, but of course the output sounds like a preamp. Is it possible to run a cab sim *just* on the headphone output? An impulse response would work too of course, if that is possible.
Schmalle
No, there is no independent headphones sink. Global Settings -> Phones Monitor gives you two options: Main L/R or Send. This relates to the HX Stomp. Other units may vary.
rd2rk
Take a split at the end of the signal chain. Put the cab/IR in that path and set it's output block to XLR. Set the output block on your main path to 1/4". Set Global Settings>Ins/Outs>Headphones Monitor to XLR. This won't work if you're already using the split for that path, but also allows for using the physical XLRs to send the signal to FOH with a cab/IR if necessary.
kerryhall1
Ah this is an awesome idea, but I am currently using XLR output 1 for an acoustic guitar. (Different preset for certain parts of songs) Could I use XLR output 2 in this manner?
rd2rk
If all of your presets are the same per I/O, I might be able to help if you attach a sample. Otherwise, the solution has to be on a preset by preset basis. There's no global solution.
