Recording With Floor Pod Plus To Audio Mixer. Help!

Recommended Posts

I got a Xenyx 302USB audio mixer (http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/302USB.aspx) that I bought to start recording with. I plugged the 1/4" guitar cable from the "MIC IN" part on the mixer to the "Phones" part on the flood pod plus, and then a 1/4" cable from "Input" on the FPP to my guitar. I can hear everything with the program I'm using to record/practice with on my computer, but it doesn't sound very good. I do have an external sound card which is the Sewell Soundbox External USB Soundcard "http://sewelldirect.com/USB-SoundBox-71-and-51-Sound-Card.asp" so the delay isn't as bad. When I'm playing though the guitar doesn't sound very good at all. I have the Floor Pod Plus set on Direct from "Amp/Direct" is there anything else I can do?

What you need to do is plug the rear 1/4" left and right outputs of the FPP into the line level RCA phono inputs on your mixer. Something like this:

What you have connected currently is wrong on many levels which I won't go into now as I'm typing from a phone, suffice to say you won't get a good sound currently.

Hello,

I saw this thread subject and would like to please ask how I can get the superb sound quality of the POD 2.0 while on headphones but at the same time mixing in some good backing tracks and also sometimes using the Jamman XT looper to practice. But all on headphones WITHOUT losing sound quality.

So the rig would be:

1. POD 2.0

2. Jamman Solo XT

3. IPAD 2 for music backing tracks

4. Ashton MXL 6 mixer

5. Very good pair of Sony headphones

When I tried this rig, I think due to the mixer the sound was very "dampened". Is it because I need to buy a better mixer?

And for the looper, how am I supposed to connect it back into the mixer?

I would really appreciate your help as there is absolutely nothing as bad as muffled sound quality.

Thank you.
