How to Store Tones to AMPLIFi 30?

Okay, I've been going in circles on this for a while, never having had a need to do it before:  How do I save a tone (favorite, modified, etc.) from the mobile app to my AMPLIFi 30?

In broader terms:  My app (iPhone/iPad) shows there are 24 banks of tones supposedly on my amp.  However, there are only four tone presets on the amp itself.  I find that as long as my mobile app is connected (via Bluetooth) to the amp, I can customize and play tones to my liking.  But, disconnect, and I can only use the four presets.  The documentation says I can overwrite these, but it also says it can't be done while Bluetooth is active.  Huh?

When I go to save a tone, my choices are

  • Save to My Tones
  • Save to My Tones as...
  • Store on AMPLIFi 30
  • Publish to Line 6 Cloud
  • Tweet Tone
  • Facebook Timeline
  • Cancel

It would seem #3 (Store on AMPLIFi 30) would be the logical choice, but I am then presented with the list of 25 banks, 24 of which have presets.  I can save to Bank 25, which lists four "User" presets.  But these don't seem to be the ones on the physical four amp presets, so I'm confused as to how to put a preset I want to use without benefit of the mobile app?

I hope this hasn't been too confusing.  My goal is to take the AMPLIFi 30 to a "gig" and just power it up, plug in and go.  I won't have time to fiddle and twiddle with settings, phones, apps, etc.

It’s described on pg 7 of the AMPLIFi Remote Pilot’s Guide. No point in my rewriting it here. If you’re already following the described procedure and it’s not working please provide details of where it’s breaking down.

You need to use the app to do this. For gigging, prepare the amp in advance with the 4 presets you plan to use.
