Am I missing something?

Yep, see - Helix Native Pilots Guide - Rev O - English - Page 19.

(Click on the Question Mark icon in the lower left corner of the HX Native window).

Hardware Blocks (Send, Return, FX Loop & Looper)
When Importing a Helix/HX Hardware-exported Preset into Helix Native - These hardware block types are only functional within Helix/HX devices and, therefore, their parameters are not editable. These blocks have no routing functionality within Helix Native.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

Have you tried using LoopBack in Mainstage? If not, there are plenty of youtube tutorials to get you started.

tks folks for the replies. I'd failed to login for a bit and wasn't getting email notifications.

I'll see if I can sort it in MainStage since it seems HXN won't fly.

I don't initially see where to patch/assign the controls in the "assignments and mappings" page. I use an Apogee Gio but it should be device agnostic.

peace

The looping feature in an audio recording program is usually associated with track recording and playing back. You usually select a portion of a track (e.g. a number of bars or measures) and simply click on a 'loop' icon to make the selected portion play (or record) repeatedly until you stop playback. After assigning Helix Native to the track you simply edit the Helix Native settings while the recording is looping.
