Amp models and their settings

I have just purchased the Spider V MKII and was wondering about the construction of the amp models. I play a Schecter Hellraiser with the EMG  81 in the Bridge and the Sustainiac in the neck position, and an Ibanez S HSH with Semour Duncan's TB-4 JB Trembucker & SH-2 Jazz Hot Rodded Humbucker, prior setup Seymour Duncan Distortion Mayhem Black Humbucker Pickup Set TB-6 Trembucker. With all three setups I find that the Amp's setup is way too hot for these pickups and have to dial back the Drive and EQ settings to eliminate a very harsh static signal that does not react to the tonal variation of the strings, just an underlying static noise, that is very unpleasant.

Would I be correct in thinking that the Amp models are configured for low output pickups?

Has anyone else experienced this with nearly every Amp selection using similar pickups?

Thanks!

The amp models presets default to levels compatible with normal single coil and humbuckers. All your pickups are on the hot end of the spectrum, so I would expect that you would have to lower the gain to get a reasonable distortion tone. That's the great thing about digital, you can adjust parameters to your taste with lots of options for shaping tone.

Yes, this was what I was thinking too. I guess I just wanted to get some validation on the subject as I was very annoyed with the distortion that was basically unusable from a musical perspective. Is anyone aware of any online Line6 configuration videos for tuning up the Presets to accommodate higher output pickups? I have been tweaking the presets and thinking that some guidance may go a long way to finding the tone that I'm looking for.
