Ins/Outs (stomp and HX Effects)

Hi. Just wondering if I’m doing it right.

I have both the fx and hx stomp which are being connected via 4cm. Am I going to set all ins and outs as Instrument Level or is there somewhere in the loop that I need to set as line?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Please provide more setup and cabling details. Which device is in the FX Loop of the other? Which device is your guitar connected to, and which device is connected to your external speakers?

The answer to your question is probably yes, but your setup will determine which settings on which device need to be adjusted.

Hey Silverhead..

Please see attached image.. I did the whole rig..

So I have 3 outs, one mono (DRY) signal coming out from Axe FX direct to FOH, then stereo (L&R) from Helix to the FOH..

The green highlight is the AXE FX connection..the blue HX Effects.. and gray, the Stomp..

One arrow represents mono, two arrows stereo..

Hi guys. Maybe someone can chime in to this query?

With that diagram.... set everything to instrument and call it a day. That's the easiest to remember and will work fine.

You could also set everything to LINE.... but the INPUT of the Fractal still needs to be instrument level.

I have no idea why there is a need for so much complexity, but that's not my business :)

Thank you kind sir.
Trying to have a wet/dry/wet kind of setup. Maybe there is a better approach?  I don’t know.  Still have an old Axe Fx Ultra lying around so… :)

Edit: I use a lot of delays and reverbs in my patches hence I’ve added the hx effects to the chain. The stomp can’t give me that. And I’m also using dual amp on the stomp.
