Hi everyone,

I still struggle with the concept of buffered vs non-buffered. Has anyone run their unit with any of the available echoplex preamp type pedals (Chasetone Secret Preamp, Clinch EP-Pre, Dunlop EP101)? I'm trying to determine the best way to integrate an echoplex preamp pedal into my HX Effects 4cm setup. Any help or information would be appreciated.

The most important thing to remember is that this only matters when the effect is in a bypass state. Once the effect is on, it is always buffered.

Always On? I'd place it just before the amp... on route to the amp.

As an effect? I'd place it in the other loop... then use that loop as the "on/off" for the effect.

In either example... it won't matter if it's buffered or not.
