Hi,

Is there a way to use a real amp head in the signal flow of a HX stomp such that the cabinet is emulated by the HX and the real amp make no noise other than in my headset ?

I live in an appartement in NYC and I can only play with headphones. So I was wondering if I could send the signal to a JCM 800 (main input from hx fx send and jcm cabinet output to hx fx return.  Is there a risk of blowing up the Hx ?

What you need is a "reactive load" attenuator that goes between the JCM's Speaker Out and converts the signal to LINE level for return to the HXS.

Not all attenuators allow the amp to be used without a physical speaker load.

The Fryette PS2 allows this in "Silent Mode".

See page 9 of the Fryette PS2 manual.

No, I've never used one of these.

I bought a pair of Waza Air headphones for silent practice.

Do not do this... it will blow the HX Effects to pieces.

As stated above, you will need a load box prior to the return of the stomp in order to make that work.
