Cataylst 100 with Hx Stomp

Does anyone use both of these together? Is the best way to do this Using the 4 cable method plus midi cable? I really like the cataylst amp sounds but would like to use the additional effects In the stomp as wel as he able to change channels

Yes. Use 4cm for Pre and Post FX and to swap between Catalyst and HX amps.

Use Snapshots to access up to 3 Catalyst Amps/Banks per preset and/or control Catalyst FX.

Use a two button switch to change channels (A/B) and toggle the boost.

A MIDI switcher will allow you to access the full range of Catalyst functions.

If you haven't already bought the HXS, the full fat Helix (floor or LT) is the all-in-one solution.

There's LOTS of ways to configure things. Read the manual(s) and let your imagination run wild!

If a HX stomp is used direct with Power-Amp-In Mode, what speaker cab should be used? Would it be the same as running into a FRFR speaker?

Are the Catalyst Amps/Cabs voiced for the speaker?

Catalyst has a specially designed GUITAR speaker in an open back GUITAR cab. It is NOT an "FRFR" speaker or cab.

The Catalyst amps are not voiced for the speaker and cab. The speaker and cab are voiced for the amps.

That said, an IR or modeled speaker cab is essentially a type of tone control. An EQ. 

Try it. It won't hurt anything. There's only one real rule when it comes to getting good tone from a modeler.

If it SOUNDS good, it IS good!
