Recommended OHM Rating for Headsets

I have a Helix LT - bought it last year (2021). What is the recommended OHM rating if I purchase a headset to use with it? And is there any specific headset(s) that Line 6 has recommended that may work best?

Thank you!

Hi,

This sort of issue as been discussed at length many, many times in here, but for a definitive answer, check this from the man himself:

Digital Igloo - Eric Klein, Chief Product Design Architect, Yamaha Guitar Group / Line 6 / Ampeg

Helix's headphone amp is LOUD; it's designed to drive high-impedance studio headphones to stage volumes. Low impedance headphones distort way faster, fatigue your ears, and at a high enough volume, can damage your hearing. With Helix you could conceivably split the headphone output to two pairs of 200-300 Ω cans/IEMs and drive both over the sound of a drummer (and adjust respective levels via MIDI CC control of path output blocks). My band does this now.”

link to original post where he says he uses Sennheiser HD600 rated at 300Ω.

Hope this helps/makes sense.

If you're considering open back headphones, the Sennheiser HD600 and HD650 are excellent! Drop.com offers a very reasonably priced Sennheiser HD6xx  which sounds and works great with all Helix gear!
