As a side note to TheRealZap, make sure that your sample rate on the POD HD Pro matches whatever rate is occurring in your session. This can be accessed from page 5/10 in the System I/O settings.

just select audio when you add the track.... selecting "guitar" or whatever will add the apple models.

Thanks for the help worked perfect! Just one more thing... What is good way to hook up studio monitors ( xlr? RCA? 1/4 inch?) with my pod hd pro and Mac mini? I'm using GarageBand.

my setup is very similar. i have the pod hd pro x, mac mini, and use logic. i go from the unbalanced outs straight to the monitors works great.
