New to LINE 6 and Pod GO - Question on presets & Snapshots

I am attempting to create some snapshots. My initial idea was to copy one of the factory presets using Pod Go Edit software interface and paste that preset as snapshot with in a new User Preset. This is does not seem to be possible?

To elaborate....

I want to a create preset for a song while using the snapshots within the preset to change the guitar sounds during the song. Since there are a few of the factory presets that I do like I was hoping to copy the factory preset to a new snapshot within a new user preset as a template.

All I can seem to do is replace the entire preset with the copied one...  I am using Pod Go edit software with the latest patch and latest firmware on the hardware.

Thanks

A preset is a collection of specific FX blocks and a specific amp/cab selection in a particular order (signal chain). And we’re not just talking about FX Types (e.g. a Mod block and a Delay block). We’re talking about the specific models of those types (e.g. 70s Chorus and Digital Delay). Snapshots are variations of the parameter values for the given model selections. ALL snapshots in any preset share the same selection of FX block and amp/cab models.

So yes, you can paste a factory preset to REPLACE a new User preset and then use that preset as the basis for creating snapshots. By changing the parameter values of the blocks in the preset in different snapshots you can dramatically change the sound of the guitar by changing snapshots within the preset. But you can’t paste an existing preset as a snapshot within another preset because the signal chains are almost certainly different (re-read the first sentence of this post).

if you are new to Pod Go, I recommend you invest some time to read the manual, and check out the official Line 6 short video series that will help you with the basics.

There is also a great resource here (when you apply to join this facebook page make sure you accept the group rules - I'm on there as moderator & group expert):
