jvanderhorst789
I've been having an issue with my Helix Floor Pedal for a while now and I can't seem to find anyone having the same issue as me. After my Helix being off for a while, none of the knobs work, except for the Master and Phones volume knobs. Also the scribble strip displays are on, but don't display anything, as well as the expression pedal display, and the colored lights around the footswitches won't turn on. The main display is fine and I can still click each footswitch and engage/disengage each effect/bank/tuner as if there are no issues and sound is fine. After a while being on, all the lights and displays turn on and the knobs and everything else works fine and functions 100% normal. I've tried updating, backing up, restoring to factory settings, and restoring from backup, but nothing seems to work. Not sure if its a hardware issue (possible, since there has been times it has been left in the car in the heat), but I don't know where to begin. The repair shop gave a diagnostic time of 8-12 weeks and I can't go that long without it. Any ideas?
silverhead
It might just be a failing power supply. Not sure how you can test that without buying one. Perhaps there’s a retail store near you that carries Line 6 stuff and would let you test one?

jvanderhorst789
I usually went back to normal after about 30 mins or so, but now it doesn’t. It has all the same symptoms now, but won’t go back to normal.
jvanderhorst789
This might sound stupid, but what does it look like and I how can I change it? I tried looking it up, but can’t find any videos on how to change it and when I searched what it looked like, the only results I get are the power cable that goes from the outlet to the Helix. It’s now over a month since your first post about this situation - that time would have been better spent having it fixed. The comment about the power supply may have been a mistake, possibly a little confusion with the HX Effects unit as the post has Helix Multi Effects in the title. The HXFX device does require an external power supply. Your Helix floor has an internal power supply that connects to the main power via an IEC C13 socket. This sound like it requires a technician to check it out and fix it. Hope this helps/makes sense.
somebodyelse
I'm by no means an electronics expert, but it sounds to me like a faulty/dead capacitor - gut feeling based on what capacitors do in amps. I'm confident that no amount of factory resetting, re-installing firmware, consulting the forum etc is going to fix it. It's a job for an electronics bod who's familiar with the Helix.
