daveaphotopod
I know this may be a strange thing to put in a POD GO forum, but to be fair, I am praising the POD GO. So recently, I wanted to "downsize" and get something that has a bunch of amps, and maybe something like the Line 6 HX one. But by then, you're getting into the same price range as a pod go. Ok, fine...maybe I will look at an HX stomp. But....it's more expensive, and you "lose" the expression pedal. I know this is a silly thought experiment, but am I wrong. Is there another fully featured device that doesn't venture into the super budget realm? As I said, once you pick up something like a TC electronic IR loader, or even the new BOSS one, then get effects (like the HX 1), you're back into POD GO territory. Point of this post? Should I just accept the POD go is great and not try to downsize and just enjoy all the amps and effects? haha

But don’t overthink it because…. Q2: Yes.

And I would categorize that as anything sub $200, in this case...if anything that cheap exists, anyway But the more and more I look around and watch YouTube videos, the better the POD GO looks. Sure, limited blocks and no parallel paths, but I am not missing that anyway. I never need MORE than 4 blocks, for example.
voxman55
I think the Pod Go is hard to beat at it's price point, but Line 6 mfx aren't for everyone. The thing about Pod Go is that there is so much in it and every update adds more. Whilst that's great for most of us, Pod Go isn't 'plug 'n play' and there's a lot to learn. Some folk want something a bit simpler to use with less 'option paralysis' and they are prepared to accept a bit less functionality as a trade off. I was very curious to try out the Valeton GP200, made by Sonicake, and I bought one on approval to put through its paces and compare with my Pod Go. I actually liked it a lot. The GP200 seemed well made, sounded as good as Pod Go, was largely easier to use, and it had some excellent features that Pod Go could benefit from. Of course it also lacked certain features in Pod Go. Ultimately I returned it because it didn't meet my gigging needs, but for home users the issues I had with it may be less of a concern. And if Sonicake can fix the main issues I had, I could well be tempted to buy it again. theElevators
It is. Minus the very low quality micro-switches. Even worse than those on the Helix.
buford
I have been a pod user since the first Kidney Bean came out a few decades ago. Up until a year ago I still used amps and pedals for live sound and my pod for practice. in 2023 I crossed the line and was able to dial in some killer tones (finally) that I could use plugging the "GO" into a large stage with concert FOH speakers. I have been critical of the stock sounds which so many just plain suck. The game changer for me was Michael Britt. He developed a basic preset pack with the podgo. Its pure money. I play a 2022 Gibson les Paul Modern and 1978 Ibanez CN200 and I used Michael Britts tones as the foundation and tweaked for my guitars. I am not a technical person so as much as I wanted the Helix, I am super happy with the "GO". It delivered in 2023 running it direct to the mains of a large stage. Thank you to Michael Britt. BTW: I dont know him and never met him. In fact, I sent him a thank you email when I finally decided to ditch my amps and he never responded. My only beef with the "GO" (Podgo) is the wireless feature. i actually have the Podgo wireless and the integrated wireless system works about 30% of the time. I thought it was the unit so Line6 swapped it out in the first month but the second one did the same thing. Soooooo you really cant count on it for rehersal or for sure a live gig which means its a waste of a $100. It really doesnt make sense cuz Line6 builds wireless devices. Line6 tech support said you could have interference on stage but I called BS on that one. I have an old BOSS WL-50 Wireless pedal device that works 100% of the time plugged into the "GO". Not sure what the situation is on that but that is a little slap in the face for LIne6 engineers when I purchased the podgo wireless and I have to plug in a boss competing product that works perfect. So 100% sold on the PODGO, just not the wireless.
