Jeremy111222
I've only had my XL for a short time. I originally had it hooked up to my amp using the 4 cable method and it worked good for all of the effects. But I'd like to simplify things, have less cords etc. And I was wondering how do you use reverb and delays in front of my amp? They sound bad and very off. Is there some setting I have to adjust to make them sound (right) good? I'm also thinking about getting a different amp that doesn't have an effects loop so that's another reason why i'm trying to figure this out. SaschaFranck
Are you running your amp clean?

somebodyelse
Hmmm. In front of a clean amp, not a problem. Back in the dark ages, I used to have to run my delay in front of my (OD'd) amp... not fun. As soon as I could afford it, that amp was gone, in favour of an amp with an effects loop. I never use reverb anyway, so that was never a consideration. Never looked back. You can 'get away with' having delays in front of a dirty amp - low feedback/fast decay, but... Reverbs, though? NO! Just NO!
codamedia
That video is a good example.... you simply can't use the same settings on the effects, they need to be altered to make it work for a similar result. FWIW... I prefer delays "before" the dirt... I find it more dynamic and interactive. Reverbs are not something I use a lot... just a natural sounding room to create a little space. molul
I usually have my delays and reverb after the amp+cab block, unless I want some shoegaze stuff, in which case I place them between distortion and the amp+cab. It's very fun, but it can get boring after a while if overused.
