Help! Need help connecting HX Stomp to Morningstar MC6 Pro

This is my first MIDI controller and need help linking the MC6 Pro to my HX Stomp. I've watched 10 or so videos and they all seem pretty straight forward, but I cannot get the MC6 Pro to relay messages to the HX Stomp.

I've uploaded firmware updates to both devices and MC6 Pro is programmed correctly in Morningstar Editor in order to link up to my HX Stomp (CC:069, MIDI CH 1 on each device), although I could be missing some controller setting or something that I'm unaware of. I'm connecting 5 pin MIDI cable to MIDI Out on MC6 Pro and MIDI In on HX stomp. HX Stomp's Global settings read as follows
"MIDI Thru: On",
"RX MIDI Clock: AUTO",
"Tx MIDI Clock: MIDI",
"USB MIDI: On".

All equipment is brand new including cable. The MC6 Pro LED screens are showing what I programed correctly but the HX Stomp is just not responding to the MC6 Pro messages. Am I doing something wrong?

Assuming you are trying to turn blocks On/Off and/or change parameters with the MC6... Make sure the Bypass parameter on the HXS blocks are set up for midi CC's and the correct CC#? For example: Block one, set "Bypass" to CC#4, Button 1 on MC6 send CC#4.

On the HXS you'll find this on the Global>Bypass Assign... Page over to "MIDI In". From there turn the first knob until you see the CC# you want to use as "on/off" for that block.

If you want to assign a "parameter" of a block you can hold down the knob for that parameter and a new screen pops up allowing you to choose the parameter/MIDI CC and the CC#.

HX Edit makes all of that easier but it will be beneficial to be able to navigate on the unit itself at some point in time... Trust me!
