DugT
I just installed the last two updates and I'm overwhelmed with all of the new gear. Are there two or three standout pieces of gear that I should try first? I'm happy with my current modest presets but there is always room for improvement. In my case, maybe a lot of room for improvement. I use three presets: Jazz Acoustic emulation 4 different distortion presets Thanks!
DugT
I'm a little surprised that there have been no replies to my post. Is that because there are no real standout universally good elements in the updates and/or it is too much up to personal taste to venture a guess on what I would like? Schmalle
Everybody likes different stuff and has different needs so there is no objective answer. However... the JCM 800 Brit 2203 has received lots of high praise. The sound of rock that is on soo many 80s and 90s records. If you check it out beware of the bright cap on the gain pot (Drive parameter) - lower settings make the amp thin and harsh. The Line 6 Oblivion amp model is awesome for mid to high gain stuff - it starts where the 2203 ends gainwise. Not far from those modern EVH high gain amps. There is a new F7nder silverface Bassman model (US Dripman Nrm in the bass amps category) that is really nice from clean to crunch. Like the 2203: bright cap on Drive warning (if "Bright" is on). And the Line 6 Clarity is a super clean amp model that works well with pedals - such as the new Nobels OD-1 model (Pricedrive). The new cabs are cool, try the Fullerton models (Tweed Deluxe) with it's new 1x12 counterpart - rock'n roll!

Now I have lots to play with, but not too much.
