geddesd21
Hey all, Been wondering this for a while, although I've never tried it. I bought a tube amp recently (Blackstar HT-60) and was wondering if there is a way that I can utilize the effects on the Spider IV and play them through the HT-60? Any insight to this? fflbrgst
There are ways to hook them up, but I wouldn't guarantee you are going to get good results and you would need to be careful about overdriving the Blackstar's input circuits. The Spider does not have an effects loop output, so the only signal you could feed to the Blackstar would be from the DI/headphone output. This output includes the amp/gain circuitry sound. If you plugged this into the Blakcstar guitar input, you would need to be very careful about keeping the Spider volume low as to not blow out the Blackstar input circuits. You could also try plugging this Spider output into the effects return loop of the Blackstar. Either way, the guitar signal is going to end up going through two amp circuits and typically amp-gain X amp-gain does not give a pleasing sound. Note that you will need to adapt the stereo output from the Spider to a mono signal (use a 1/4" stereo plug to 1/4" mono jack adapter or cable). geddesd21
Thanks! You've convinced me to forget it and just get an effects pedal. Too much circuitry for me to worry/care/know about.
