mcnugbugget
Hey guys, I am wanting to record using my fender mustang amp (aswell as podfarm) and was wondering if i could use the xlr inputs on the ux2 or are they just for mics?
silverhead
They are designed for mics but you can connect the output of any device into those inputs. Just be very careful with volume levels. The UX2 XLR's are expecting a low strength signal level (mic level). Your amp's output is probably at a different level; if it's adjustable try different settings. Be sure to start off with everything at very low output/input levels. Slowly increase both the amp's output level and the UX2 input levels until you find a good balance that gives you the strongest signal you can in to your UX2 without clipping or high noise levels.
Triryche
+1 to silverhead What other outs do you have? I would be inclined to use the UX2 Line In, if you have no other outs you could use a XLR to 1/4" cable Also, I think some of the Mustangs have USB for recording.
mcnugbugget
thanks guys, it has a 3.5mm heaphone output and it can record via usb but there is no way to monitor and it is just a pain in the lollipop to use.
gary9605
Don't mean to highjack the thread, but....I have. Line 6 spiderjam amp, and it has line out jacks (RCA) and i've wondered if that could be routed into the ux2.
Triryche
Absolutely!! Run them to the Line In 1/
gary9605
Any way to get a CLEAN Pass through on Podfarm, if I wanted to use the settings and tone from the spider amp?
Triryche
For stereo, make a blank dual tone, pan A hard left and B hard right and do not put any effects or amps. Select Line1 Tone A and Line 2 for Tone B The one annoying thing is every time you open PF you need to reselect Line2 for Tone B.
gary9605
Thanks, is there, however, some way to bypass the supplied amp setting.....or must I just use a "clean" setting. Reason I ask is the Clean don't really seem all that clean.
Triryche
Delete any amps or effects in the paths. The only thing in the paths is the mixer block.

Triryche
Are you using PF1 or 2. I can make a screenshot if you are still having a problem.
gary9605
PF 2, no real problems, was just interested in seeing how the connection should work.
