dua1ity
I used to own a Spider Valve MKII and am considering getting another one for the sake of the convenience of an all-in-one head. One thing that bugged me about the SV though, is that I could never get a good, warm, Marshall-esque tone from it. I loved the clean tones I could get, but the high gain tones seemed lacking. The idea popped in my head, maybe if a professional biased the amp to use EL34 power tubes, that may warm up the tone and achieve the more mid-ranged sound I'd like. Has anyone ever done this?
