How Do You Connect E-drums To A Ux2?

  Just wondering if it is possible to connect an E-drum brain to a UX2 via MIDI or some other manner that would provide MIDI control.

The other manner would be a midi interface, I use my TD8 through an M-audio UNO most of the time.

the direct answer to your question though is that the UX2 doesn't have any midi capabilities.

I am looking at upgrading my interface.  Something like a KB 37 or something.  i am looking for a device that has the MIDI in plug or some way to get MIDI into the interface from the drums and then into the computer.

I don't think any of the line6 interfaces have built in midi.

I use a tascam us1800 that does have midi as well, if you need that many inputs.

there is a wide range of m-audio interfaces that'd probably suit your needs as well.

so will using another usb port on my PC disrupt my UX2's operation or will they work together?

any modern PC should be able to handle this without issue... that's not to say there can't be exceptions.. because there are so many possible hardware and software configurations that problems can and do occur...

FWIW, I run the MIDI from my digital piano to the PC while using the UX2 as my audio interface into Reaper on Win7 x64 without issues.

+1 to both of ya!  I have a pretty good system.  I just remember almost 3 years ago when I was trying to learn how to set everything up and am being proactive on repeating any possible issues.  Its nice to finally get some real help on here.  Now its time for me to help someone.
