astarothreaper
As the title says, Does the clean channel really take external distortion well?. I am willing to buy 15W or 30W but puzzle in this case.
fflbrgst
I'm not sure what you really mean. Generally, you do not want to combine an external distortion pedal with an internal-to-amp distortion because distortion X distortion sounds bad. All Line 6 amps can be adjusted for minimal 'drive' and any FX distortion can be turned off.
astarothreaper
Thanks for replying. I get your point. Also I do know that the amp has built-in distortion effects. But still I am curious, because if I want to use any external pedal (either distortion or any other) so that will sound good with this amp or not (With the clean channel)? fflbrgst
It's done all the time! Only you can judge if the sound is what you want.
jak_E_lee
personally these don't require an external pedal like a boss pedal, the built in distortions are well up to the job.
Atomant669
Am planning to run my boss me-80's distortion on my spider 75 just to see how it sounds like :P
