GazzaBloom
I'm looking to add an outboard overdrive to use with my HD500X and wondered how pedals sound in the FX loop when playing via studio/direct? Do they sounds as they would played through an amp or is there any kind of sound issues to be aware of? Thanks
malnack
I use an Electro-Harmonix Soul Food overdrive in the FX loop of my HD500. I use it this way live and in direct recordings and it sounds great. (When I record, I sometimes take the direct out from my DT-25 amp.)
scottyo78
The FX Loop is like any other effect in that it can be positioned/placed anywhere in your chain. So that means it may (usually) affect your sound depending on where it's placed. Some effects affect the overall sound more than others as to where they're placed.
