dorkdog 2 Posted August 2, 2014 I ordered a neck from StewMac and put it on in about 10 minutes. It plays awesome! Way way better than the stock neck (still looking for a creative use for that...) Here's a pic or 3.
clay-man 262 Posted August 2, 2014 Plays better? I wish I could just get a sunburst 69 and swap a maple neck in place, but I'd rather not have to deal with action/leveling the neck/making sure the neck doesn't interfere with tuning stability. Also the annoying warranty thing where Line 6 yells at you for any customization or personalizing of your JTV. 1
dorkdog 2 Posted August 2, 2014 Boy does it ever! I haven't even had to make any adjustments and it plays well - it was setup as best as possible with the old neck and is pretty intonated with the new one. A couple of twists on the bridge fixed that! Other than that, I had the issue with the high string slipping off.... even a not-yet-setup neck is better than that. For what, just north of $100 I am in a much better state.
radatats 921 Posted August 2, 2014 Looks great but I have no idea what your decal says... Which neck did you use? the 5716 standard or 5714 compound? I am contemplating the compound radius but has anyone tried one? any comments?
snhirsch 91 Posted August 3, 2014 I've had a compound radius neck on my JTV-69 for almost two years. Worked out smashingly well.
dorkdog 2 Posted August 4, 2014 I have the compound radius... played it out today - perfect! The decal is my signature - Landon S Johnson

guitar4u 9 Posted August 5, 2014 A few questions please: 1. How were the fret ends (edges)? Sharp, or smooth? 2. Did you have to shim the neck to make it fit? 3. Was the nut pre-cut? If so, were the string slots cut correctly for the bridge? 4. Did you have to drill the holes yourself? Thanks!Rich
