Pod HD500 Freezing

Dear all,

I have had my Pod HD500 from new for a number of years now.  Up until the last few weeks it has been working flawlessly.

However......

Recently it has started freezing/crashing.  To start with it would do it when changing between two particular patches so I figured it was something about the patches it didn't like.  I reflashed the firmware and started again and everything was OK for a couple of weeks.

Now it freezes when I switch it on.  All the lights and the screen light up as they should, however none of the buttons work and I get no sound from it at all.  It's also worth noting that the LED on the Tap footswitch is on constantly rather than blinking.

Today I have noticed that while the unit is frozen if I start HD Edit sometimes it will come out of the freeze and start working, however then when I close HD Edit it freezes again.

I have the unit connected to my PC via USB and also MIDI as I use the pedals start backing tracks in iTunes.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Rob
