How to connect POD to comp and use customtone
by guitarsurfer2 on 2011-12-27 08:28:45.6820

I just got the POD 2.0 for Christmas and I'm trying to figure out how to connect it to my computer so I can download and use tones from I'm currently using Windows XP on a SOny VAIO laptop. What MIDI cables do I need to buy so that I can connect the POD to my computer? Also, what MIDI interface should I download? I have downloaded Line 6 edit, but I'm not sure if that is correct because I have not purchased the cables to connect my POD.

Any advice regarding these questions and, also, how to get tones from customtone to play through my amp would be greatly appreciated.

We recommend an M-Audio MIDIsport UNO (because it's what we use to consistent success with our gear here in the Support Department):

If you do buy one of those, please don't download any software drivers from a CD that might come with the unit; instead go straight to M-Audio's website and get the most recent USB software driver from them (here's the Windows XP/SP3 version):">">

For your last question, we have a video (albeit the unit is a PODxt Live that connects via USB) that will demonstrate the 6 Edit patch organization process:

The information above may not be current, and you should direct questions to the current forum or review the manual.
