POD X3 Live Gearbox Problem
by MarkLaszutko on 2012-02-06 11:30:52.6290

Hey, I've had a consistent issue with the POD X3 Live when connected to the computer. When i first got it, all the delay types, modification types, stomp types etc. that were on my POD I was able to access in Gearbox. Now however I am only able to access about three models from each over Gearbox but all of them on the POD X3 Live. I also cannot download tones because the Gearbox says I don't have specfic models but I do have them on the POD, Gearbox is just being weird.

Help would be greatly appreciated

Go into "Edit" -> "Preferences" -> Hardware and make sure that the Launch Gearbox is set to "Auto-Detect Device"

That didnt work its already set to that, and it says this tone requires you update your POD X3 to 2.00 or higher, but I have updated gearbox, the monkey thing and everything. This is so confusing.

When you look at your X3 in Monkey, what level is the firmware at?  Also, have you run the Licensing manager?

My main drivers are the newest at 4.2.5.1 and my USB firmware is at 1.01.

Also all my pre-existing tones I downloaded I cannot edit on the Gearbox because it says that I need to update my POD X3.

You do, in fact need to update your X3 to 2.0.  Take a look in Monkey.  Make sure that your "Flash Memory" is at version 2.0 or higher.  If not, Monkey will allow you to update it.

If you are still receiving this error message, can you provide us with a screen shot of error message received along with a step by step recipe you used to encounter the error message?

BigChas52 has a good suggestion to use the License Manager application to authorize your computer and POD X Live. You can download the latest version of License Manager v1.02 from the link below:
